Finding Unity and Harmony by Sifu Ed D’Urso

“What is required is that we unite with others, in order that all may complement and aid one another through holding together.” ~The I Ching or Book of Changes

I recently returned from vacationing with my family on Ocracoke Island, the home of the infamous pirate, Blackbeard. We had one stormy day of weather and one stormy afternoon of family conflict. Aside from this we had a warm and relaxing commune with nature and each other. It was just what we needed. My son and I have a contentious relationship that is filled with great love. We are fighters. My wife is a warrior in nature, but where we are blunt in our fighting styles, she is graceful. Together we form a team that maintains a dynamic balancing act that respectfully ranges from stormy to calm and everything in between. Restorations are all biocompatible, no low grade electric current resulting from incompatible materials. Just a nice normal tongue. The ability to find, maintain, and recover balance is a primary indicator of health and wellness. Perfect balance is rare. You may achieve it momentarily, but like an acrobat crossing a tightrope, you must make continuous small adjustments to maintain your equilibrium. Health, like all of life, is not static. That’s why being in a state of good health requires constant adaptation to the different influences affecting you both internally, within your body, and externally, from the surrounding environment.
