Upcoming Hypnosis Certification Class

Clinical hypnotherapy can help people with everything from addictions to zoophobia, the fear of animals. As local hypnotherapist Ajamu Ayinde shares, “Hypnosis can support personal growth and spiritual exploration, reduce exam anxiety, improve memory and public speaking, help overcome setbacks, increase creativity and more.” Hypnosis has been endorsed by the American Medical Association since 1958.

Join Ayinde for a Basic Hypnosis certification class May 3-5 and May 18-19 at the Center for a Healthy You in Poughkeepsie. A free introductory talk will be given May 1 from 7-9 p.m. Physicians, nurses, massage therapists and others will learn to use guided imagery to produce transformation. Students who complete this class will become Certified Hypnotists through the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists (NATH). This 5-day course is the first in a series of three courses leading to certification as a Transpersonal Medical Hypnotherapist. Those who complete the three classes will be certified by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA).
 
Instructor Ayinde is a medical hypnotherapist and trainer. He was in the first
NATH Hypnosis Trainers Training in 1998 and has since trained students across the United States, Canada and England. He has an extensive experience in pain management and has spoken at Benedictine Hospital, Morehouse School of Medicine and is the only non-dentist to have spoken before the Dutchess County Dental Society. He will be joined by G. Ernest Lofton, a board certified physician.

Rockland Farm Alliance Announces its Third CSA Season

Rockland Farm Alliance (RFA) is excited to embark on the third growing season of its initial farm project, Cropsey Community Farm. RFA, whose mission is facilitating local sustainable agriculture in Rockland County and educating the community about small-scale farming and local food, started Rockland’s only Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in 2010 on the former Cropsey Farm property in New City. Cropsey Community Farm has been visited by hundreds of students and has fed over 200 families fresh, locally grown, organic produce in its first two seasons.
